May 2, 2016 – Prestasi Junior Indonesia and AIG commenced a 2016 collaboration with the mobilization of 23 volunteers in support of financial literacy education for young students at State Elementary School No 1 in Benhil, South Jakarta. An enthusiastic group of 140 students participated in interactive lessons in small groups of up to ten involving trained AIG business volunteers. This school caters to a demanding group of students and the engagement was certainly challenging for the AIG staff. The AIG professionals, however, can rest assured that volunteers very seldom come to this school and their involvement with students ‘in need’ was impactful and extremely well received. This is the first volunteering activity in Jakarta elementary schools, together with Prestasi Junior in 2016 – there are more to come.
